Jet Charter Colombia arranges business travel for executives flying into Colombia for meetings in Bogota and Medellin, and for Colombian teams with meetings in Panama, the United States and Europe.
Meetings in Bogota and Medellin
Bogota’s El Dorado International is in the west of the city, about 9 miles from the historic center. Medellin’s main airport, Jose Maria Cordova International, is in Rionegro, about 11 miles east of downtown across the mountains, so allow for the drive into the city when you set the meeting time. Both airports are open around the clock, and we can help you arrange ground transportation through a third-party provider.
If your trip covers both cities, the flight between Bogota and Medellin is a domestic leg. Those flights are flown by Colombian charter operators certified by the Aerocivil, Colombia’s civil aviation authority, and your advisor will talk you through the options.
Colombian teams flying abroad
Panama City is about 410 nautical miles from Bogota and about 295 from Medellin, close enough for a turboprop or a very light jet. Miami suits a midsize jet. A super midsize jet reaches Washington, DC and New York, about 2,065 and 2,170 nautical miles from Bogota, and a board meeting in Madrid or Paris calls for a long-range jet.
Tell us when the meeting starts and where it is, and we will work out the departure time from there. The cabin is yours for the whole flight, so the team can go through the numbers on the way without anyone else listening.
Companies that fly the same routes
If your company flies the same routes every month, tell us your usual passengers, preferences and dates, so we do not have to start from scratch for each trip. Our frequently asked questions cover how quotes and payment work.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
Colombia-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Most international private flights into Colombia arrive at Bogota’s El Dorado International or Medellin’s Jose Maria Cordova International in Rionegro, and Cartagena also takes international flights. Flights between two Colombian cities are flown by Colombian charter operators certified by the Aerocivil, Colombia’s civil aviation authority. Bogota and Medellin sit high in the Andes, so the operator plans the aircraft and the load with the altitude in mind. October and November usually bring the heaviest rain to the Andes, the hurricane season from June through November can affect San Andres and the Caribbean coast, and the weeks from early December to mid-January and Semana Santa book up first. The routing and any fuel stop on a long trip are confirmed with the operator before you book.
