Colombia Midsize Jet Charter

Midsize jets are among the aircraft Jet Charter Colombia arranges for trips to and from Colombia. The types we arrange seat 6 to 10 passengers, with published ranges from 1,810 to 2,950 nautical miles. Which one suits your trip depends on the passenger count, the baggage, the distance and the airports at both ends.

Typical Aircraft

The types we arrange in this category are Cessna Citation Excel, Cessna Citation III, Cessna Citation VII, Dassault Falcon 20, Embraer Legacy 450, Gulfstream G100 / G150, Hawker 700, Hawker 800 / 800XP, Hawker 900XP, Learjet 55 and Learjet 60.

When a Midsize Jet Fits a Colombia Trip

Midsize jets give a group a larger cabin for the longer flights. From Bogota, most of the types we arrange reach Miami and Orlando as well as the Caribbean islands and Lima. For New York or Mexico City, your advisor will compare a super midsize jet.

Cabin size, baggage space and range vary across these 11 types, so send us the details and we will narrow the list down for you.

The runway a particular aircraft needs is calculated by the operator for that day’s conditions, and your advisor confirms it with the operator before anything is booked.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Colombia-Specific Patterns We Plan Around

Most international private flights into Colombia arrive at Bogota’s El Dorado International or Medellin’s Jose Maria Cordova International in Rionegro, and Cartagena also takes international flights. Flights between two Colombian cities are flown by Colombian charter operators certified by the Aerocivil, Colombia’s civil aviation authority. Bogota and Medellin sit high in the Andes, so the operator plans the aircraft and the load with the altitude in mind. October and November usually bring the heaviest rain to the Andes, the hurricane season from June through November can affect San Andres and the Caribbean coast, and the weeks from early December to mid-January and Semana Santa book up first. The routing and any fuel stop on a long trip are confirmed with the operator before you book.
