Jet Charter Colombia arranges private flights to and from Colombia for clients who travel with their own security staff, or who prefer an armored vehicle for the drive to and from the aircraft. For many of these clients, it is the way they travel wherever they go, and we plan the flight around it.
Ground transportation at both ends
We can help you arrange ground transportation, including an armored vehicle, through a third-party provider. That can be set up at the airport you leave from and at the airport you arrive at, so the arrangement you are used to at home is in place when you land. Tell your advisor what kind of vehicle you want and where you are going, and we will pass the details to the provider ahead of the flight.
Keeping the trip private
We only share passenger names and itineraries with the operator, the crew assigned to your flight, and any ground transportation provider you ask us to use. If the trip is confidential and requires extra discretion, tell your advisor when you first call, and we will handle it that way from the start.
If your plans change, call your advisor directly, and we will work the change through with the operator, subject to scheduling and aircraft availability.
Counting the whole party
Security staff fill seats as well. Two or three extra people, and the bags they carry, can rule out an aircraft that looked right for you and your family alone. Give us the full passenger list when you first call, with your security staff included, and we will size the aircraft to the whole group. Our passenger charter aircraft section shows the cabin sizes in each category, which helps when you are working out how many people need a seat.
Vetting Behind Every Trip
Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:
- FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
- Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
- Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
- Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.
Colombia-Specific Patterns We Plan Around
Most international private flights into Colombia arrive at Bogota’s El Dorado International or Medellin’s Jose Maria Cordova International in Rionegro, and Cartagena also takes international flights. Flights between two Colombian cities are flown by Colombian charter operators certified by the Aerocivil, Colombia’s civil aviation authority. Bogota and Medellin sit high in the Andes, so the operator plans the aircraft and the load with the altitude in mind. October and November usually bring the heaviest rain to the Andes, the hurricane season from June through November can affect San Andres and the Caribbean coast, and the weeks from early December to mid-January and Semana Santa book up first. The routing and any fuel stop on a long trip are confirmed with the operator before you book.
