Colombia Private Jet In-Flight Catering

Jet Charter Colombia can arrange in-flight catering for your private flight to or from Colombia, from a light breakfast on a short trip to Panama City to full meals on a long flight to Madrid.

How catering is arranged

We arrange specialty in-flight catering as an add-on at an additional fee. Selections are tailored to client preferences and confirmed before departure. Most charter aircraft carry a selection of drinks and snacks, and anything beyond that is ordered for your flight. Let your advisor know before we start quoting if catering is something you want, so it is part of the plan from the beginning.

Dietary requests and allergies

Tell us about allergies, dietary needs and religious requirements when you first call, along with any meals for children. Kosher, vegan, low-carb and other requests go into the order from the start, so nothing has to be added the day before you fly.

Bringing your own food and drinks

Some clients prefer to bring a favorite dish or a particular bottle of wine on board. Tell your advisor what you plan to bring, because the operator has a say in what goes on the aircraft. On an international trip, the country you are flying into may also limit what you can bring in with you.

Matching the menu to the aircraft

Galleys vary a great deal from one aircraft to the next. A light jet on a trip from Medellin to Panama City, about 295 nautical miles, has very little space for preparing food. A long-range jet flying from Bogota to Madrid, about 4,340 nautical miles, usually has a galley that can serve full meals. Your advisor will tell you what the aircraft you are booking can handle before you choose the menu. For longer trips to Europe, you can read more about our long-range jets.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Colombia-Specific Patterns We Plan Around

Most international private flights into Colombia arrive at Bogota’s El Dorado International or Medellin’s Jose Maria Cordova International in Rionegro, and Cartagena also takes international flights. Flights between two Colombian cities are flown by Colombian charter operators certified by the Aerocivil, Colombia’s civil aviation authority. Bogota and Medellin sit high in the Andes, so the operator plans the aircraft and the load with the altitude in mind. October and November usually bring the heaviest rain to the Andes, the hurricane season from June through November can affect San Andres and the Caribbean coast, and the weeks from early December to mid-January and Semana Santa book up first. The routing and any fuel stop on a long trip are confirmed with the operator before you book.
