Colombia Technology Sector Private Jet Charter

We arrange private flights for technology companies doing business in Colombia, from executives flying into Bogota and Medellin for board meetings and site visits to Colombian teams heading to investors and customers abroad.

Meetings in Bogota and Medellin

Bogota’s El Dorado International is in west Bogota, about 9 miles from the historic center, and it is open around the clock. Medellin’s main airport, Jose Maria Cordova International, is in Rionegro, about 11 miles east of downtown across the mountains, so allow for the drive when you set the first meeting. We can help you arrange ground transportation through a third-party provider.

A midsize jet suits a trip from Miami, and a super midsize jet reaches Bogota from New York or Washington, DC. If the trip covers both cities, the flight between Bogota and Medellin is flown by a Colombian charter operator certified by the Aerocivil, since a foreign operator cannot carry paying passengers between two Colombian cities. Your advisor will talk you through the options.

Colombian companies flying abroad

We also arrange trips going the other way: roadshows, investor meetings and customer visits in Panama City, Miami, New York and Mexico City. A turboprop or very light jet suits a short trip to Panama City, and a super midsize jet reaches Mexico City and New York.

Privacy and equipment

We only share passenger names and itineraries with the operator and the crew assigned to your flight. If the trip is confidential and requires extra discretion, tell your advisor when you first call, and we will handle it that way from the start.

If you are bringing servers, test rigs or demo hardware, send us the dimensions and weight before we quote. Smaller items can travel in the baggage compartment of a passenger aircraft, and larger loads may need a dedicated cargo charter.

Vetting Behind Every Trip

Every operator, aircraft, and crew goes through our internal due diligence before we present any options. Our internal standards meet or exceed what the FAA requires:

  • FAR Part 135 charter operators for traditional private aircraft, or FAR Part 121 for airliner-size and group trips (or the foreign equivalent on international legs)
  • Operator subscription to Wyvern and ARGUS reviewed where the operator participates.
  • Pilot experience and operator incident history reviewed before we recommend an aircraft.
  • Fewer than 60 brokers worldwide hold Premium Wyvern Broker Member status, and Air Charter Advisors is one of them.

Colombia-Specific Patterns We Plan Around

Most international private flights into Colombia arrive at Bogota’s El Dorado International or Medellin’s Jose Maria Cordova International in Rionegro, and Cartagena also takes international flights. Flights between two Colombian cities are flown by Colombian charter operators certified by the Aerocivil, Colombia’s civil aviation authority. Bogota and Medellin sit high in the Andes, so the operator plans the aircraft and the load with the altitude in mind. October and November usually bring the heaviest rain to the Andes, the hurricane season from June through November can affect San Andres and the Caribbean coast, and the weeks from early December to mid-January and Semana Santa book up first. The routing and any fuel stop on a long trip are confirmed with the operator before you book.
